When BMC wanted to build a full-suspension 29er, they worked with their racing team. Their bikes are all purpose-built for racing, with crossover benefits for riding. The collaboration resulted in the Fourstroke FS01, which is available here as a frameset.
World Cup racing is a place where full-suspension bikes are looked upon with suspicion. The bikes need to be light and fast, and racers routinely sacrifice comfort for speed. BMC's racers are happy to ride this bike in their hardest races. It's because the FS01 manages to be agile and efficient. Of course, it's made of carbon-fiber main triangle and suspension elements both, and is super light (2040g for a medium), but that is hardly the key. Engineering is. The bike has a light, stiff, main triangle, with a geometry derived from their Big Wheel Concept, aka BWC, which marries relaxed angles to a long top tube, short head tube, and low bottom bracket, so the big wheels still ride easily when you have to carefully pick your line at slow speeds and still feels stable at high velocity. They added their Advanced Pivot System, APS, which isolates pedaling forces from ground forces.
APS, when paired with the Fox Float CTD shock gives a plush ride that is super-active, while being plenty adjustable. You start by getting aboard and checking the initial load indicator. These are machined and painted marks on the swingarm. There's a neutral point and then you can adjust between firm and soft. Adding to the ride is the 100mm travel CTD shock with three settings you can adjust on the fly, by turning a machined dial.
The frame also comes standard with lots of small, smart features. The bottom bracket standard is BB90, so the frame can be built out more and you can leave external bottom bracket cups at home. Protecting that bottom bracket from chain grinding is BMC's integrated chain catcher that adjusts via two bolts at the bottom of the down tube. The underside of the right chain stay is equipped with a mounting point for an integrated chain guide as well as a replaceable aluminum plate designed to protect against chainsuck. The rear triangle comes with a 12x142mm thru-axle to complete the triangle by maximizing stiffness and minimizing weight. The Natural Born Post Mounts on the left seat stay have replaceable nuts. The position of the mounts are designed for 160mm rotors, but can be adjusted to take up to 185mm rotors. The headset tapers from 1 1/8" at the top to 1 1/2" below. Even the cable routing has been thought through. There are mounts for cables and brake hose underneath the down tube while there's a way to internally route a cable for on-the-fly seat post adjustments.
When you dress this bike up, you'll have a ride that can take you from racing to freeriding. How it tilts depends on what parts you put on it.
